Navigating a DDD Contract Amendment: Expanding Services for Greater Impact

Expanding my business service line through an amendment to my Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) contract was very exciting since the network has been closed for 2 years now. When the opportunity arose to add new services on January 1st, 2025, I knew it was a chance to better serve individuals with disabilities while growing my company. The process was easier than I thought!
Understanding the Amendment Process
Amending a DDD contract is as simple as adding a new service and moving forward. It involves:
Logging into Focus and opening up your the contract administration tab and clicking "Amend". Your previous contract is no longer visible in this area.
Once you are in, hoover over the "service" tab and select the services you would like to add and acknowledge the attestations.
Click submit amendment in the top right hand corner of the screen and your'e done!
The great thing about this new contract is that you don't have to answer the questions about each service if you are an existing qualified vendor. It saves you a ton of time! Now we wait!
Update: I applied on January 2nd and heard back on January 31st, 2025. My contract specialist denied the service adds because I had added a service that DDD is no longer soliciting. Tip: Don't add services that they are not soliciting, it will only hold up the process! She allowed me resubmit the services and responded on the same day with additional items to upload to my contract.
She requested:
3 months of bank statements
3 years of profit and loss statements
3 years of Balance sheets
3 years of tax returns
Updated business plan with the new proposed services
Updated business continuity plan.
It took a while to gather all of the information and dig through all of my files but was submitted on Feb 1st! I will keep you posted on my process!
Thank you for reading!
